The previous owner of this bike offered it to me to sell when I first started with Concierge. At the time I wasn’t sure I’d be able to sell it but it became a focus for me for all of the first month. Showing it to everyone who was looking for a medium-sized bike.
The lady who eventually bought it almost looked over it because of the images below, specifically she thought that dirt on the cassette was indeed rust. That taught me a lesson.
I cleaned this bike just before that and then realised what I was dealing with. A super-light aluminium dual suspension (Fox shock) Trek Gary Fischer edition. Yes, admittedly potentially 9 years old BUT in its day it would have been the Trek to own. And still today a well looked after bicycle with history I knew of. Did I mention it was light?! Anyway, we sold it to Shelia for R10k!
Shelia came to me already after being online and knowing what was available. How would I impress her now, I thought? Oh yes, I have this Trek up my sleevy. Shelia was the same size. Coincidence? Let’s say Stars aligned. Shelia wanted to spend no more than R15k. I feel she walked away with a bargain that will last her a while before she ever considers upgrading. This is a LOT of bike for R10k (IHMO)
Thank you to the previous owner for the opportunity. Shelia, happy riding lady!
