We found this Scott CR1 carbon 52cm for “Jill” on The Hub. Jill rode Bron’s Bianchistein a few weeks earlier and was impressed with the size of the bike, the compact crank and 11/28 cassette (no, she had no idea what any of those words meant). Turns out this Scott was a) light (carbon) b) came with compact Crank c) also had a 11/32 cassette (yes, we got the cassette back the next day for anyone observant enough to question). The bike was ALL the way in Vandebijl. Jill was ready on the end of whatsapp ready to Pay if it was as good as advertised. Oh, yes, this was R11 500. Jill’s budget was between R12k and R15k. I think we got lucky here If I’m honest. The seller advertised it then went to ride Sani2c that week. He said he was inundated with queries. We got there first. Jill went on to ride Tshwane Diamond Classic the following weekend. She was grateful for ALL her gears. On her loan bike she only had one bottle cage. This bike came with two, the Pedals she had been using on the loan bike (so her cleats would fit) and a sigma cycle computer. Score! I got the battery changed in sigma sensor and got the gears indexed. (oh yes and CLEANED it!) Happy Riding Jill! This was a great find. It’s like this bike was waiting for you.
